Roholio is a folk singer/songwriter, tutor and performer from Barnstaple, who has currently released her third album, 'Ghosts'. Inspired by Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos and Johnny Cash, Roholio has been mixing genres for numerous years and performs regularly both as a solo artist and as a folk three piece.
Biography
She released 'Coco's Jar' in 2007 with the group The Roholio Project - a folk duo with Tim Pointer. Roholio then followed this up with 2009's 'Spilling the Beans' - predominantly a solo album but featuring a lot of musician friends, such as Brendon Taylor and Gang of Thieves guitarist Tom Saunders. In July 2012 Roholio finally released her third album, 'Ghosts' which marked a new musical direction for the 23 year old, utilising synthesizers, mandolins and guitars to create a raw, honest album which was a world away from the acoustic, laid-back vibes of 'Spilling the Beans.'
Not satisfied with an album launch and a summer of gigs, Roholio is already working on her next installment, which will feature Tim Pointer- hailing a return to the acoustic roots of Coco's Jar - as well as Gang of Theives bassist Tom Ellwood, and hopes to release 'Evergreen' later this year.
